A glimpse: Spreading Arbour

Updated: Jan 3

Over the last year or two in the background to my studio work which has mainly been working on a large-scale installation, Alex Carnie, documentary photographer, has been photographing some work and putting together a new catalogue that is primarily about my smaller drawings and watercolour pieces but includes images of a couple of larger works, recorded and in the public domain for the first time.

What is really nice, is that the catalogue has an introductory text by Mark Hudson, who since 2015 has been the chief art critic of the Independent. He has written a short positive text on the work, titled Notes from a Dendritic Underworld. It hints at the influence on work of living and working in Winchester and exploring the watery tree-lined underworld of the nearby River Itchen.
