Winter Tree: Selected Work

The Heart Project

Hybrid Bodies is a multidisciplinary research and artistic creation project, bringing together the domains of Arts, Ethics, Medicine and Social Sciences to investigate the complexities of heart transplantation. Andrew developed work for the first phase, Hybrid Bodies, which looked at transplant recipients through access to a range of researchers at institutions in Canada. Hybrid Bodies was exhibited at Phi Foundation for Contemporary Art, Montréal, Canada, (2014), Kunstkraftwerk, Leipzig, Germany, (2016), and London Gallery West, University of Westminster, (2017).

The second phase, Hybrid Kin, working with donor families, is currently ongoing. Test exhibitions have been shown at London Gallery West, University of Westminster, (2017), and the Winchester Gallery, Winchester, (2018), in the exhibition Chiasma.
